The BSB60607 - Advanced Diploma of Occupational Health & Safety
qualification will add dimension to almost any role in any industry. Learn to understand and apply relevant legislation, identify workplace hazards, assess risk, deal with emergencies, use equipment for workplace monitoring and develop skills through the development of a systematic approach to managing OHS. The qualification will also aid in analyzing OHS information/data reporting and recording processes, develop and implement crisis management processes and evaluate an organisation's OHS performance. Depending on your current role, the Adv. Dip. Occupational Health & Safety qualification can equip you to be an OHS supervisor or OHS manager.

Course Structure
Upskilled Advanced Diploma of Occupational Health & Safety programs are delivered by Upskilled's expert trainers in 8 full one day workshops (1 day per month) combined with some out of class assessment and assignment work, where participants are involved in active discussion, networking, problem solving, and presentations related to building skills and experience in leading and managing staff.
Prerequisites
Candidates may enter the qualification through a number of entry points demonstrating potential to undertake vocational education and training at advanced diploma level, including:
- After achieving the BSB51307 Diploma of Occupational Health and Safety or other relevant qualification/s
OR
- Providing evidence of competency in the majority of units required for the BSB51307 Diploma of Occupational Health and Safety or other relevant qualification/s
OR
- With extensive vocational experience in planning, implementing and evaluating their own work and the work of others with safety responsibilities but without formal OHS qualifications
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
Many individuals may already be competent in one or more of theAdvanced Diploma of Occupational Health & Safety (BSB60607) competencies. RPL is available for each Unit of Competency based on relevant workplace experience, formal training or other expertise. Recognition will involve your submission of evidence in a portfolio form to be assessed by Upskilled’s assessors.
Assessment
Assessment is through participation in the 8 structured workshops as well as carrying out some workplace projects.
Inclusions
Upskilled Advanced Diploma of Occupational Health & Safety courses include detailed learning materials, assessments and certification on successful completion. Morning tea and lunch are also included in the course.
Course Outline
The eight workshops will address the following 8 units of Competence from the National Business Services Training Package. All of these competencies must be successfully completed to gain the Advanced Diploma of Occupational Health & Safety
- BSBOHS601B Develop a systematic approach to managing OHS
- BSBOHS602B Develop OHS information and data analysis and reporting and recording processes
- BSBOHS603B Analyse and evaluate OHS risk
- BSBOHS604B Apply ergonomic principles to control OHS risk
- BSBOHS607B Advise on application of safe design principles to control OHS risk
- BSBOHS608B Conduct an OHS audit
- BSBOHS609B Evaluate an organisation's OHS performance
- BSBMGT617A Develop and Implement a Business plan
Funding and Investment Considerations
Federal Government funding for this qualification is available to existing workers under the Productivity Places Program (PPP). Refer to our Government Funding page for more information and to check your you're eligible.
Participants undertaking training via PPP will be charged a student
administration fee upon enrolment. The fees charged must be in line
with TAFE NSW fees and exemption policies. The fees are subject to
change.
